ReCap carried out on Amiga 4000 040 by F.M.

In these photo galleries you can see the entire process followed both for the replacement of all the electrolytic capacitors present on the motherboard of an Amiga 4000 040 (ReCap) and for the research and solution of a problem on the Audio preamplification line. Following the dispersion of the acid from some electrolytic capacitors in correspondence with the audio preamplification stages, some tracks on the motherboard have oxidized to the point of turning into resistors. This problem typical of some types of capacitors is extremely insidious and unfortunately in some cases it can only be circumvented by isolating the tracks involved to redirect the electrical path with a small external conductor. In this case it was necessary to apply a jumper to restore the connection to the negative power supply of U403 which was no longer available.
