Amiga 500 / 500+ Z-500 Zorro 2 Adaptor with Sidecar Passthrough

Amiga 500 / 500+ external Zorro-II adaptor. This adaptor allows you to connect a Zorro-II device to the sidecar port of your Amiga 500 or 500+, allowing the use of RAM cards, IDE controllers, SCSI controllers graphics cards and so on. It is known to work with:

• A2058 Zorro RAM card
• A2091 RAM / SCSI controller
• Buddha Catweasel Z2 IDE controller
• GBAP II++ graphics card
• ZZ9000 graphics/network/USB combo card
• Multiface 3 Card
• A590 hard drive/RAM sidecar

This is a simple adaptor, and is based on several old designs from back in the day that did the same job. I made these to test and develop Zorro cards for the Amiga since I didn't have a big-box machine to hand. I have an A2000 now...

An optional power connector is provided on the board to allow additional power for power-hungry devices. This must be from the same PSU that powers the Amiga. It is rarely required however.

Board has been tested and is brand new. It will be well protected when shipped and instructions are included.

Please note that compatibility can't be guaranteed with sidecar devices or devices that use DMA. Some may work, some don't. Also, some accelerators and internal expansions may be incompatible with Zorro cards, and some older ACA500+ accelerators may need a firmware upgrade. Ultimately, all these expansions are pushing the A500 far beyond what was originally intended. Finally, some cards require additional hardware, e.g. graphics card drivers require a 68020+ CPU and upgraded Kickstart. Any questions, please ask!
